My Professional HR Experience

Senior HR in manufacturing

Fifteen-plus years of senior in-house HR experience, including senior roles at major food manufacturers such as Pilgrim Foods, Bakkavor, Gousto and Princes. That experience underpins my HR support for food manufacturers and seasonal workforces, where shifts, absence, employee relations and fast-moving staffing issues need practical answers.

Logistics, hospitality & beyond

My experience spans logistics, haulage and hospitality — fast-moving sectors where employment issues rarely wait for a convenient moment. I provide practical HR support for haulage and logistics companies dealing with drivers, operational teams, absence, performance and employee relations.

Education, charity & public sector

Advisory and consultancy work across education, charities and the public sector, including HR consultancy for schools, charity sector organisations, London boroughs and NHS trusts. This gives HR PPL relevant experience for schools and charities that need senior HR advice without a full-time in-house HR function.

Ten years running the floor

Ten years as a Retail Store Manager, alongside my HR career which means I've actually done the job, not just advised on it.

HR PPL brings all of that together: senior HR expertise, delivered personally to the small and medium businesses that need it most.

Why I Started HRPPL

After fifteen plus years inside HR departments in factories, warehouses, schools and boardrooms I kept seeing the same thing.

small and medium sized businesses getting the worst of both worlds. Too small to justify an in house HR team, but facing exactly the same employment law as the big players. One badly handled dismissal, one out of date contract, one grievance that goes wrong, and the tribunal doesn't care that you're a twelve person business.

There was a personal side to it too. I live in rural Lincolnshire with a young family, and anyone who's tried to make a senior career work around limited childcare knows exactly how that maths goes. I needed more flexibility than a traditional in house role could give me so I built it. HR PPL lets me do the work I'm best at, on terms that work for my family, for businesses that need senior HR expertise without the salary cost of hiring it in.

It also means I practise what I preach. When I advise clients on flexible working, family rights or making jobs genuinely workable for real people's lives, it isn't theory it's how my own business runs. I tell clients what they can do, what they can't, and what it will cost them if they get it wrong.

People. Process. Protection.
